We are growing the Wok+Wine family and we need your help. We are looking for dedicated, socially-savvy, design-oriented, quality-focused people across the globe on whom we can bestow the privilege of running Wok+Wine in their own cities. People like you… or maybe someone you know?

One of our favorite descriptions of Wok+Wine came from a friend in New York who said: “Wok+Wine is like StumbleUpon for people: you help me to find the people I didn’t know I was looking for“. We’ve unwittingly created a serendipity machine and for it to have the most value, we need to be doing more… together!

What an incredible week!  Another 4 events in one of our favourite parts of the world!  We love bringing the wok to Australia!  Thanks to SOHO Galleries Annex South for hosting our last Sydney event, Nepenthe Wines for the delicious Sauvignon Blanc and of course our good friends at Lemon Z for the limoncello.  So what’s next??

We’re heading to San Francisco and hope to pull together events there and in Dallas, TX in March.  Then we’ll be in New York and possibly Hawaii before heading on to Europe in May/June.  The best way to keep up with where the next events will be is to follow us on FB or request a personal invitation here.

Thank you Melbourne for a sensational night at The Little Mule – our favourite place  in Melbourne for coffee, food and custom bikes!  It was a perfect collaboration with Agenda, Chapel Hill Wine and Lemon Z Limoncello at another sold-out event in what is fast becoming one of our global hotspots.  The photos of this event are now online (here).  See anyone you know?

Next week we’re in Sydney and there are still a few places open for the events on Feb. 15 & 16 (registration details here).  This will be our last stop in Australia for a few months as we head back to New Zealand for one event in Auckland on Feb. 23, and then on to San Francisco, New York and Europe so please join us!

New Friends: The Wok+Wine Global Community reached the 3000 mark in January. Make sure you’re signed up for the official invitation to events in your area and follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss out!

New Venues: Our venues last year included a factory, a bike-shop, a design-store, a street-art studio, co-working spaces, rooftops, apartments and a beauty salon/spa. This year we already have a board-room and a gallery lined up. Check out this showcase of our venues from last year and let us know if you’d like to host an event or if you know someone who does!

New Collaborations: We’re looking forward to continuing our annual bi-coastal (SF & NY) collaboration with our friends at Foodspotting.com, our partnership with KEA, and being part of the official program at Amsterdam Film Week again. We also have some new collaborations in the pipeline. Watch this space!

New Cities: Last year was fantastic! We visited Wellington, NZ and Portland, OR for the first time and revisited some of our favorite cities including New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam, London, Melbourne, Sydney (click the city names for photos to see if you recognize anyone). This year we hope to get to Shanghai, LA, Atlanta and Perth. If you know people there, let them know we’re looking for venues.

New Wines: The team at Lemon Z have been shipping their sensational limoncello to us across the globe and we’ve been lucky to introduce our guests to some amazing new wine brands (see the full overview on our wines page). 2012 will be even more delicious!

Finally, we’re on the lookout for the right people to be running Wok+Wine events in key cities when we can’t be there. If you or someone you know would be the right fit, please contact us!

Wow – what a week!  2 cities, 4 events, 100kg of jumbo prawns, 200 new friends!  Thank you to everyone in Melbourne and Sydney for coming out and supporting this sensational return to one of our favourite parts of the world in collaboration with Blake and team at Agenda.

After the incredible welcome we had last summer, we’ve packed up the Wok and headed back downunder.  On the way from London, we stopped off in New York and San Francisco for our final events of the year (see pics here).

Last week we had two amazing events in Sydney as part of our collaboration with Agenda.  This week we’re in Melbourne for two events (Dec. 14 & 15) before we continue on to New Zealand.  Unfortunately all events are now full but we’ll definitely be coming back.  Make sure you’re on the invitation list (join here) so you are first to know once we’ve decided on a return date.

A special shout out to the whole team at Amsterdam Film Week for an amazing collaboration last week in the center of one of our favorite cities.  An international crowd of film-lovers gathered around our massive communal table for another engaging evening of great conversation.

We have an exciting couple of months ahead that will take us from Europe to New York and San Francisco at the end of November for our final events before heading downunder where we’ll visit Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and hopefully Wellington.  Make sure you are following us on FB and register for the invitation in your city.

Fresh off the back of the incredible Advance.org rooftop event in San Francisco featuring an amazing wine from Noble Grape Wines and certifiably the world’s best limoncello from Lemon Z (see pics here), we’re lining up our final event in New York City before packing up the Wok to travel across the Atlantic and join the team of Amsterdam Film Week for two exclusive events in one of our favorite cities in the world.

The concept is brilliant! [they thought of it - not us] Watch an amazing, thought-provoking film and immediately afterwards join 40 fellow film-friends around a long communal table covered in jumbo shrimp for some stimulating post-film conversation.

The Infamous Goose made another stellar appearance at our recent event in the studio of design/digital agency MASS.COM in SoHo, Manhattan.  From CFO’s to type designers, PR pro’s to NGO’s, we were again humbled and bewildered by the incredibly diverse crowd who gathered around our legendary communal table loaded with the world’s most delicious jumbo shrimp.  Check the photos and video.

Next month we’re making a trip back out West for events in Portland (OR) and San Francisco.  We’ll then stop by New York again on our way on to Europe where Wok+Wine has been included in the official program of Amsterdam Film Week as a post-screening exclusive gathering.  What better way to engage with fellow film enthusiasts.  Watch our FB page for more details.
